We went with the Collettes, and Bay and Kylie had a great time together.
They loved the sheep. In fact, they started throwing straw on them... until some lady, their keeper, told them "Shame on you!"
Katie got so giddy being able to feed carrots to these animals.
We looked away for a few seconds and found Bridger at the top of this fence. We pulled him down and he didn't waste any time jumping back on it.
Bridger had no hesitation poking the animals in their eyes and pulling their hair. Here he's apparently staring off into the sunset, lost in the feeling of his fingers running through the soft, vibrant locks of the goat.
Bay can't go to a fair without getting her cotton candy. This shot was actually taken at a local fair a few days before the Ohio Stater.
These little piggies knew how to run! The pig races were well-attended and very entertaining!
Our little golfers.
Me getting mauled by the kids for the funnel cakes. Those things are so good!
This was a long day for Bridger, and he was fast asleep in the wagon before we'd even left.
And the surprise ending: our beloved van broke down again! Aaaaarrrrgh! Thankfully the Collettes were on the road with us and we all crammed in their van, which left Katie and I on their van floor. So I spent a total of 3 hours lying very comfortably on the floor. (Why doesn't Toyota use "Comfortable Floors" as a selling point?) We got it up to the shop that originally repaired it, and of course, it was a "new problem" and another big repair bill. The van is fine mechanically; the problems apparently lie in sensors and electrical parts.
So a memorable State Fair for all!

I love Fairs! It looks like a fun (and memorable) trip. Bummer about the van though.
That's so fun you take the kids to fairs. They have so much fun stuff. My family never got into fairs, but I think my future-kids will participate in them.
And your poor van! It has the worst luck. That's hilarious about Toyota's comfy floors, though.
Too bad you couldn't have hopped into the wagon with Bridge and rolled home!
Love the picture of all the kids looking at the sheep. Very expressive.
I bet a fine Cadillac would not disappoint and fail you so. Glad to see you are all having so much fun!!
I can't believe all of the bad luck you've had with your van!
We went to a petting zoo this summer and Mason totally threw straw on the sheeps...and also got scolded by the keeper(and I got a disapproving look for allowing such actions!, some things are the same everywhere
Sorry to hear your van broke AGAIN. ARGH! I love the pictures! of everyone! And I always have preferred lying down in a car to sitting on the seats. They need to make seat belts for sleeping on the floors.
you guys, that sucks. :) That van needs to be put out of its misery..as soon as you graduate, pay off loans, buy your dream house... don't you love it all? We miss you guys.
